Today we had our annual trip to Armagh Museum to explore Toys from the past.
We travelled by bus & had great fun learning about toys old & new, how they were made & what materials were used.

As a school, we were absolutely delighted with the results of the survey and the high regard which you have for our school.
Moving forward, we will be using this data, and many other data sources, to help steer our school for the next 3 years.
May I, on behalf of the whole school community, thank you for your contribution.
Mr A Frizzell
Today we played outside in the sunshine. We enjoyed catch the ball with Mrs Shields, building Lego and even making meals for others in our imaginary McDonald’s.
Our boys and girls were very excited this morning about going to Presentation P.S. to meet up with their new friends. We began by playing a few space games, followed by a fun-filled Play-based Learning session and finishing off our day by watching the ‘Smeds and Smoos’ film together.
Today, we had lots of fun making new friends and playing with the P1 boys and girls from Presentation Primary School. Our day was based on the story ‘Smeds and Smoos’ by Julia Donaldson, with lots of space and alien-themed indoor and outdoor play-based learning activities on offer. The story tells of how even though the Smeds and Smoos were very different in many ways, they could still be good friends. Our boys and girls are already looking forward to seeing their new friends again next week!
We all enjoyed dressing up for World book day and listening to a storyteller.
Our new topic for term 2 is ‘Toys’. This week we have been talking about our favourite toys. Our P1 boys and girls were given the opportunity to bring their favourite toy into school today. Firstly, we enjoyed a circle time, where each child had the opportunity to name and describe their favourite toy and tell the class why it was their favourite. Then we used our toys to complete a sorting task for different criteria, such as hard/soft, big/small, noisy/quiet. After break, we enjoyed completing an observational drawing of our toys. We also discussed how their choice of toys has changed as they have grown from a baby to a child, and why this might be.
