Well done to Nadia, our class winner. 👏⭐️🎉
Last week our class enjoyed a very informative talk by Smokebusters. We learned strategies on how to say no to peer pressure. The children took part in role play activities to practise these strategies.
Well done to our February Certificate winners.⭐️
Congratulations to Ella who met her Accelerated Target.📖
Excellent work by our Mathletics Certificate winners.
Our Class certificates went to Sally and Nikola.
We were delighted to have Laurence from Hope Community Church again today, to lead our assembly. He spoke about: Contentment, Respect, Gratitude and Kindness.
Some of the P7 Digital leaders also spoke to us as part of our Safer Internet Day work that has been happening all week.
They talked about online scams, how to spot them and what to do.
We had a wonderful workshop from the Chinese Confucius Society from the University of Ulster. Yuan came into our classroom and demonstrated how to use chopsticks. She then challenged us to use them to eat popcorn! Some of us found it easier than others, but despite that, all the popcorn was eaten!!! We then did some blow painting of flowers and created some beautiful art work. The last activity in our classroom was learning how to spin a Chinese handkerchief - that was lots of fun!
After the workshop in the classroom, we were treated to an amazing display of Chinese Opera and dance in the hall were we learned all about the 'Changing Faces'. We also learned about the story of Nian and the significance of this for Chinese New Year.
A team of P7 pupils represented our school at the Credit Union Quiz in Portadown on Friday night. They had tough competition against a number of primary schools in the area. We are delighted to announce that they were the overall winners!!!
They are now through to the next stage in Armagh in March. The team were so happy with the win and we, as teachers in the audience were so proud. 😊
Well done to Daniel and Sally on reaching their Accelerated Reading target.📖
