Hot Air Rises

27th Jan 2020

P7T have been learning about a Flight as part of their World Around Us studies. Today, we learned about the concept of hot air rising - how it’s used for Hot Air balloons to fly. Hot air is lighter than cold air and will rise above the cold air. Cold air is denser (heavier) - next time you open up the fridge with bare feet, you’ll notice your feet getting cold because cold air falls to the ground. Today, in class, we made spiral snakes to practically show the effects of hot air rising. As you can see from the pictures, the children had a lot of fun.
