We have had lots of fun this month learning about bears and we also really enjoyed the stories ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears’ and ‘We’re Going On A Bear Hunt’. We turned our role play area into the Three Bear’s Cottage and made porridge for our snack which was ‘just right’ just like Baby Bears! We came to Nursery dressed in brown for a day and had a big adventure when we went on our very own bear hunt. We even found a friendly cuddly bear! We also made wheaten bread, learnt about big, middle sized and small and lots more. Have a look to see all the fun we have had.
The children had lots of fun moulding their clay into the correct shape and adding small sticks and goggly eyes onto our hedgehogs. We very patiently waited for them to dry before painting them with a mixture of white paint, PVA glue and glitter. To finish them off we stuck on some pom poms and a nose.
Here is a Christmas tree which we created from the templates of our hands.
David came in from Sentinus this morning to help us learn more about the weather. The children thoroughly enjoyed making their cloud rain blue raindrops. Before he left, he showed the children how to make lightning with a balloon, their hair and a bulb. It really was a very educational and exciting morning, enhancing our WAU topic of weather.
