Our topic this half term has been Happy Humans. We’ve spent this week learning about the heart and how it pumps blood all around our bodies. Today, we tested how four different exercises affected our heart rate. As well as having a really fun morning, we learned why our pulse increases when we exercise - because the heart is pumping blood around the body quicker than when we are resting! The hardest part for some of us was actually finding our pulse in the first place!!
Since we had no Healthy Kidz this week, P7MM got working on their hockey skills. The children learnt the basics of holding the hockey stick, dribbling and ball control. There was some great team work with pupils encouraging and cheering on their team mates, and even after just two sessions this week, we could really see an improvement in some of the skills. Well done all!
The children have enjoyed lots of fun activites to help them recognise letter sounds and tricky words.
The childrens technology task this term was to create a Christmas Stocking. During talking and listening sessions the children showcased their fabulous work explaining how they made their stockings. They recorded their words on a recorder and we all learned how to take photos of each other on the ipad. Well done boys and girls.
P7T’s Science experiment for this term was to check their rate of pulse before and after five different exercises. Pupils have been learning about the Human Body and the importance of exercise - and how our bodies use oxygen. They had a lot of fun checking their pulse rates and were amazed to see just how much their heart beats when they work their bodies. Amazing job, P7
P7T’s WAU topic has been The Human Body. We have been learning about the many different functions of amazing bodies including the importance of the heart, lungs and muscles. In our Art project, we have been showing these functions in action by drawing different people playing different sports - showcasing the type of movements we can do with our muscles, bones and joints. P7 really enjoyed trying to draw the different movements and are looking forward to the finished product. Great job, P7.
Primary 3 enjoyed the Christmas videos and moves playing a special edition of games inside during some Healthy Kidz lessons!

We all enjoyed our class trip to the Navan Centre today to watch the show - The Elf that Stole Christmas and to meet Santa and Mrs Claus in their little house. We were delightened to make a little Santa for ourselves to take home and to receive a gift from Santa. Have a look at our enjoyable day.
