This month we welcomed visitors from Oxford Island, the PSNI and the Amazing Journing Experience from Baptist Youth. We worked together problem solving with IZAK9. Primary 3F had lots of practise reading, following and writing instructions. We are very good at being bossy! We also undertook a science experiment in order to show how pollination occurs- this included lots of nectar (disguised as cheesy wotsits!).
Some of the children wore costumes to school today. Didn’t they look great. Also we have been working hard on our tree collages. We are proud of the results.
We loved having a non uniform day to get us in the mood for half term! 🎃🎃🎃
As part of our WAU topic (Trees) we have been growing seeds. This week we planted cress seeds. The children predicted that it would take 2 months for them to sprout so they were shocked and delighted to see little seedlings within 48 hours. We also did a science investigation to find out the conditions needed to make seeds grow. We found out that they need water, light and warmth. The children were amazed to see that seeds which sprouted in the dark produced very pale and weak seedlings.
