The children loved working in teams to explore solving some single digit problems. They were using digit order, adding digit by language and solving problems by working together and sharing the best solutions.

All the children enjoyed sharing their creative side by making models from junk, some children made ships with treasure, some made swords with shiny blades and some loved looking through their telescopes for pirates trying to attack their ships!!

We recently travelled to the museum in Armagh to take part in an art workshop led by Orla, a local artist, who taught us a simple way to draw animals. The children thoroughly enjoyed this and their work was amazing!
During the first week of term, P4S enjoyed a visit from Young Enterprise’s representative Nicola. The theme of the session was Our Community and the children really enjoyed learning about what constitutes a community and how communities are funded. They were most surprised when they discovered that they had to give lots of their hard earned wages to the government to pay for certain services such as health, education and policing. They decided what they’d like in an ideal community and designed these. This was a very interesting and educational session for all.
P3H are learning all about famous pirates, life at sea, ship parts, food the pirates ate and many, many more exciting facts about this great topic in World Around Us!
