P4S have been putting any food scraps into the class chicken bin each day. Mrs Stockdale takes the contents home and gives them to her chickens. This means the food waste doesn’t go into landfill, but is recycled into delicious eggs. The children each took a free range egg home for Easter.
P4S planted trees back in the autumn. Today we went to check to see if any had started to sprout. There was great excitement when we examined our pots and noticed that roots and some shoots have appeared. We planted trees because they are so important in taking in carbon dioxide from the air and giving us oxygen to breathe.
For the last week of term 2 children had to design a hard boiled egg. Mrs Stockdale, the arts coordinator, came down to pick the top 2. She was amazed by how creative everyone was. 😊
We went on a bird walk around the school. We saw a female blackbird, chaffinch and a blue tit. 👀
The Nursery children gathered sticks from the garden and used them, along with paper to light a campfire. We sang songs like She’ll Be Coming around the Mountain, Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star and If You’re Happy and You Know it. We used toasting forks and melted marshmallows and squashed them between two biscuits to make s’mores. Yummy! 😋 It really was great fun.
The Easter Bunny dropped his eggs in the Nursery garden. We had so much fun searching and finding all his dropped eggs.
P5DK had great fun making Frobscottle. During Term 2 the class novel was The BFG. After much discussion it was decided they would try and make Frobscottle. They had to conduct a science experiment and use a variety of different techniques and ingredients to create the tasty drink. Here are some photos to show what they did and the finished drink.
