P5DK made Lighthouses as part of their WAU topic, Energy. They made circuits and used them to light up their lighthouse.
As part of our WAU topic, Energy, the children in P5DK used a circuit and some junk materials to make a light house with a working light. As you can see, they are very proud of their work.
As part of our Term 2A topic, Robert Hart & China, the Confucius Institute from University of Ulster visited P7s today to give us a taste of Chinese culture. We were treated to a spectacle of Chinese dance and music before the children took part in a craft workshop where they made a Chinese dragon and received a bookmark with their name in Mandarin on it. A great morning’s fun!
We had a great day in the forest, exploring the natural environment, playing games and working together to build a den using fallen branches.
A huge well done and thank you to all the boys and girls and everyone who helped them at home to make their junk art toy. We did show and tell with these and the children told us all how they made them and what items from the recycling they used. The children were so proud of their creations.
To raise money for the earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria, we all came to school dressed in pink or red.
P5DK had a fabulous morning taking part in a fantastic money workshop that was run by the Museum on the Mound. The children learnt all about money that was used in the past and about current forms of money used around the world. Here are some photos to show you what they got up to.

Today one of our Nursery parents came to talk to us about her job. It was very exciting finding out about being a nurse. We really enjoyed the visit. Thank you Nurse Ashe.
