We had lots of fun on World Book Day. We dressed up as our favourite characters and made character paper plates. It was very difficult to choose our winners because they were all amazing. Iris got a certificate for best costume and Brody won a book for best paper plate. We also had a surprise visit from Willy Wonka, who gave us all chocolate. Let’s hope one of us has the winning ticket!!!

P5D enjoyed completing a workshop online using iPads. They had to try and recreate their AR book front cover using the Adobe Express app. Here are a few examples to show what they achieved.

We planted potatoes today as part of our topic of The Famine. We want to see if they are as easy to grow as people say!

We have been learning all about plants as part of our topic. Today, we planted sunflowers and cress. We can’t wait to see how quickly they grow!

We have been learning how to set out a letter this week, in Literacy. We then looked at how to address an envelope and where to place a stamp. Finally we sealed our envelopes and took them to the postbox. The children really enjoyed this very special activity and we hope the letters are received in good time for Sunday.

This week we have been working on a letter writing task in our Literacy lessons. We wrote letters to some very special people, learnt how to address envelopes and stick stamps on (in the correct place). We then headed off on a short walk to post our letters in the nearest postbox. The children were so excited to do this and we hope some special ladies get a lovely surprise before the end of the week!

P5P were delighted to receive a Workshop on Our City, delivered by Young Enterprise. It was great fun, planning the buildings required in a city. They also looked at Financial Planning with us, concentrating upon Spend, Save and Donate. Thank you, Young Enterprise!
