Today, P7L brought out their most dramatic faces and poses. Konflux Theatre came to visit our school and prepared a play (in 1 day!) together with our pupils. We had a great time rehearsing and practicing the many different scenes and lines. P6 and 7 came over, at the end of the day, to watch our performance. It was magnificent, we are very proud of you.

P2H travelled over to Presentation Primary school as part of the Shared Education Programme. We met lots of new friends and had so much fun together. We read ‘I want my Hat back’ by Jon Klassen and made our very own animal face masks. Have a look at our photos.

Our new topic that we will be exploring in Primary 1 over the next few weeks is fairy tales. As part of our World Around Us lesson today, we enjoyed listening to the story of ‘The Three Billy Goats Gruff’ before accepting the challenge of building the three billy goats a new bridge to cross over the river, safely away from the troll. We studied photos of bridges, talking about the different shapes we could see and the different designs and materials used. We then investigated our own materials on offer and we worked in groups to make a plan of what our bridge might look like and what resources we would use. There was a lot of trial and error involved, and we discovered that folding paper made it stronger and soon realised the importance of using sticky tape correctly!!! Once our bridges were built, we tested them to see if they were strong enough to hold a toy goat. Thankfully, all of our bridges were successful!
