A super busy and exciting morning in P5D today as we had Orlagh in class working with the children on the ‘Our City’ project. Orlagh discussed with the children the differences between a village, town and city. They got to see how a city operates, jobs that are needed and businesses that are open.
P5D enjoyed a wonderful art workshop at the Armagh Museum that was run by Orlaith Cullinane. The children got to view the AE Russell exhibition and used it as inspiration to learn techniques to create their own 3D pop up artworks on the theme of ‘From the Sea’ using chalk pastels, paper folding and lots of imagination.
Congratulations to Emily. She was our walking, talking calculator and won the class prize.
We enjoyed our prize of some ‘down time’ and party food this afternoon.
This morning we had fun participating in fun physical number activities such as making human numbers, counting our skips and hula hoop spins, running to cones a given number of times and counting our jumping jacks etc.
