We had great fun exploring the remarkable adaptations that allow animals to thrive in different habitats around the world.
We discovered hummingbirds have specific shaped beaks to fit inside specific flowers in order to get nectar. Some are long and thin, others are short and curved.
Some birds that live on or near the water need to try to keep their feathers dry in order to fly. That is why they have very long legs! Other birds that need to swim underwater for food have waterproof feathers!
Today, we had lots of fun making new friends and playing with the P1 boys and girls from Presentation Primary School. Our day was based on the story ‘Smeds and Smoos’ by Julia Donaldson, with lots of space and alien-themed indoor and outdoor play-based learning activities on offer. The story tells of how even though the Smeds and Smoos were very different in many ways, they could still be good friends. Our boys and girls are already looking forward to seeing their new friends again next week!
Today we focused on values and what is important to us, as well as exploring why we think the way we do.
On Tuesday, we enjoyed learning all about Pancake Tuesday and of course eating some pancakes.
On Wednesday, we had fun during ABL.
On Thursday, it was World Book Day and we dressed up and shared some of our favourite stories!
