THe children enjoyed creating silhouette pictures using paint and charcoal. Mrs.McLeod was amazed at their wonderful work!
Week 1
The children discussed elements that make up their identity and discussed similarities and differences with their peers.
Week 2
The children identified the similarities and differences between the sporting and arts symbols within their local community.
Week 3 - 5
The children had the opportunity to develop skills through a series of mini-games in the following sports; Football, Gaelic, Rugby and Hockey.
Week 6
Celebration Sporting Tournament
All pupils took part in a Celebration Tournament to showcase their new skills.
As part of Shared Education the children participated in a Global Learning lesson in Term 1. They weighed and calculated the food wastage in one day in the school canteen.
The children focused on Dance during Healthy Kidz with coach Steve over recent weeks. We hope you enjoy their dance moves.
We explored materials and designed our own pirate ship. Our ship needed a crows nest, a helm, a deck and a flag. Just look at our great skills! We then added the value of our ship by counting in 2’s, 5’s and 10’s to find the total cost of our ship!
This term we have worked on dance with coach Steve on a Wednesday in Healthy Kidz. The boys have been perfecting the HAKA and our girls have been working on The Greatest Showman’s A Million Dreams.
We have had a busy month having fun exploring, investigating and discovering!
We have discussed a lot about our feelings and continue to develop a greater awareness of ourselves, each other and the natural environment. The children have loved being able to help the birds by putting out seeds and fat balls. They enjoyed watching them, learning to identify all the birds that have visited our Nursery garden and listening to their beautiful songs.
The weather has given us lots of opportunities to learn about freezing and melting. We experimented by making iceboats and ice-skating penguins!
We also investigated a variety of materials, explored clay and we even made our own snow!
