RSPB Visit
We have been learning about how important it is to look after the birds during the winter months. Kathryn from the RSPB came to visit us to demonstrate how we can make a garden that the birds and mini-beasts will love to visit. We also did a spot of birdwatching to identify which birds are visiting our garden. We saw Robins, blue tits, blackbirds, a dove and starlings.
Bring a Mum Library Visit
We went to Portadown Libary for a story, song and rhyme time session as part of our Big Bedtime Read Programme. Thank you to everyone who joined us for this.
A great day was had by everyone learning about WW2. First we got to meet a GI soldier and learn drill. Some children were chosen for gun drill. Then we had to crack a Morse code. At our second station we learnt about gas masks and rationing during the war. We got to make our name tags and identity cards to show we weren’t spies. Finally we pretended we were evacuees from Belfast and we looked at an Anderson Shelter. Our air raid warden (Micah) brought us into a very dark bunker to keep us safe. Inside it we looked at the blackout curtains and sang ‘Run rabbit run’. We learnt a lot and had great fun at the same time. Thanks to Mrs Robertson for coming with us.
