Some members of the Eco Committee have been repotting cuttings and pot bound house plants. These plants were then distributed to members of the Eco Committee to take home.  Spider plants improve air quality and increase humidity so are great to have in the house.

In November, Mrs Allen taught the children how to make beautiful Christmas wreaths. She brought all the foliage plus slices of real orange slow dried in her oven. She also provided cones and ribbons. We are so grateful to her for her work and wonderful teaching ability.

Eco Committee members arranged the flowers that adorned the church and hall during the recent Service of Celebration and Thanksgiving for 90 Years of Hart Memorial School held in St Columba's Church.

Eco Committee members have been taking it in turns to brighten up the school with their flower arrangements using flowers and foliage from the school grounds.

While in P6C last year, the present P7MM pupils cleared the vegetable plots and planted potatoes.  Earlier this term, they dug up a healthy crop of potatoes which were shared out amongst those who wanted them.  One parent very kindly sent back a photograph of the potatoes cooked and ready to be eaten for tea!

Mrs Woods received eighty-three requests from children who wanted to be on the Eco Committee this year. Due to this overwhelming interest, the number of members was increased from eight to sixteen.  Names were chosen randomly from a hat. Eco Committee members are taken from the P4, P5, P6 and P7 classes (two from each class).
