The children have been looking at still life paintings by French artist Cezanne and in particular his work on apples. We talked about the shape and colours of the apples in his work. The children were encouraged to look closely at their apples, mix colours and create different shades. What a terrific effort by our P1's.

Primary 7 have been participating in the primary school exercise program ‘Healthy Kidz’ for a few years now and are real experts in the different games and activities. They thoroughly enjoy the variety of tasks -today’s lesson involved testing our hand strength. The highest being Caitlin and Michelina with 26.8kg and 24.6kgs of strength. An excellent achievement by the girls! As you can see by the photos and video, the kids had a blast.

P7 pupils did a fantastic job in recognising the tempo, pace and instruments played in the Pharrell Williams song ‘Happy’. The kids loved the song saying that it made them feel like dancing and singing along with it. They were really happy indeed. Pupils particularly enjoyed finding the rhythm of the song by clapping, tapping their heads, stomping their feet or waving their arms. It really was a lot of fun, the children enjoyed getting into it. Smiles all round. We ended the first step by attempting to sing the song. The children did fantastically well and I have discovered some excellent singers in the room. As you can see from the videos, the children really enjoyed the lesson.
