This half term P5DK are studying a new WAU topic - Space. They have started to look at all the different planets that are in the Solar System. Using chalk pastels the children have tried to recreate what the planet looks like from photos they found online.
Today, Primary 7 were treated to an Action Mental Health workshop by Menssana. Promoting positive mental health and the strategies to maintain it is amongst the most important things we do in the Hart Memorial. Pupils were engaged in discussions and activities about their feelings and emotions, on where to go and what to do if they are hurting or scared. Being aware of our feelings and behaviours helps us to take action over our mental health. It was a really interactive and worthwhile morning for pupils. There are some great pictures as you can see.
Our class had a really fun workshop on Tuesday, facilitated by Roisin from Mensanna, where they learned all about how to keep themselves healthy emotionally and mentally. Roisin talked to us about different strategies we could use when we find ourselves in situations that worry or upset us and the importance of talking about our feelings.
P7MM had lots of fun outside on Monday sweeping leaves and tidying around the Muga.
Jack, Danaya, Megan, Alex, Caleb, Riley and Samuel were all worthy winners of Mathletics certificates in the month of October. A great job! Keep up the good work.
P5P used a variety of materials and resources to construct their own Ancient Egyptian Pyramids. The Pyramids made from Marshmallows were not destined to last for thousands of years and were quickly consumed at the end of the lesson!
The children had great fun taking part in an interactive ‘Healthy Me’ Workshop. They played a variety of games linked to emotions. A great morning was had by all!
P6 are enjoying taking part in weekly music lessons. They particularly enjoyed getting to explore a range of instruments. Our focus song is Fresh Prince of Bel Air.
