Primary 7 learned this afternoon about dealing and recognising with our emotions. Whether we get scared, angry or anxious there are certain techniques who can employed to calm ourselves to reach a more stable state of mind. We tried out some calming exercises to help maintain a healthy manner. We also brainstormed some of our calming techniques and completed some emotion wheels which can be used to show our state of mind to the teacher in a non verbal manner. A lovely afternoon learning!
This month we printed firework pictures, talked about our houses, learnt about bears and lots more! One of the stories we really enjoyed was ‘Goldilocks & The Three Bears’. We had lots of fun retelling the story and acting it out in the home corner, making porridge which was just perfect for our snack and wheaten bread as well as making big, middle sized and small bears using play dough and painting pictures of bears.
We have been learning the colour brown so we had a brown day when we wore or brought in something brown.
This month we have really enjoyed the story of ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’ so we went on our very own bear hunt in the Nursery garden. We couldn’t go over or under so we had lots of fun going through, swishy swashy grass, thick oozy mud, a splishy sploshy river, a dark forest, a swirling whirling snowstorm and a narrow, gloomy cave!
Peter Pan's
We enjoyed a trip to Peter Pan's with Christian Brother's Nursery. It was fun playing together and getting to know each other at snack. We look forward to visiting the Nursery children from Christian Brother’s at their school and inviting them to visit us after Christmas.

We also enjoyed learning about the colour brown as we brought or wore something brown to Nursery.
This month we enjoyed making porridge and wheaten bread for snack. This involved gathering ingredients and equipment, measuring, mixing, cooking or baking and of course the best bit ....eating it! Of course we had to make sure the porridge was not too hot and not too cold but ‘just right’!
Our topic this month has been homes with a particular focus on Goldilocks and the 3 bears.
We have had fun exploring the concept of size, creating buildings, developing our imagination through role play and mixing colours to make brown
We have been learning about odd and even numbers. We had to deliver letters to the different house numbers but which side of the street is it on?
