We had a lovely visit from Karen from the RSPB who told us about lots of different birds who visit our gardens, how we can help them and what food we can put out for them during the winter. We also went outside to see what birds we could spot in our Nursery garden. We really enjoyed listening to stories and joining in singing different songs and rhymes in the library and had fun spending time browsing through lots of different books.
Karen Sheil from RSPB spoke to us on Thursday. She talked to us about recognising birds and explained how we can help birds to survive and make life easier. We went outside to see if we could spot any birds. We were amazed at how many different types we saw - rooks, black-headed gulls, wood pigeons, starlings, magpies and the chaffinch. She was very impressed with the work the Eco committee has done around the school to encourage birds and wildlife. Karen answered so many questions and it was such an interesting talk!

This half term P5DK have been learning about electricity and energy sources in WAU. They have studied different types of lighthouses and had a go a drawing and sketching them. When they were happy with their drawing they used watercolour pencils to colour the lighthouse and background. Here are some photographs to show what they did.
Primary 7 has been building and creating the famous Samson and Goliath cranes in class using a variety of materials like cardboard, paper, paint and glue. Children have expertly mouled and crafted the cranes which will be working models with a hook and line. We’re very happy with the way things are turning out so far.
