P2LM enjoyed lots of fun numeracy activities both inside and outside of the classroom. The children all put in a lot of effort to dress up. The children voted for the class winner themselves and Wojtek won!!

Working on our theme of ‘birds’, the children made spruce cone bird feeders with a selection of seeds in suet.  They used feathers in nurture activities and engaged in various other things related to birds.

The Chairperson of the Eco Committee, Ana-Maria Sirdea, recently interviewed Mr Alan McDowell, Director of Empower Garden Centre and General Manager and Trustee of Portadown Wellness Centre.

Mr McDowell is working with the Eco Committee to restore and improve the pond area at the front of the school and the front garden next to the road.  The Eco Committee hope to make this a butterfly garden where children can have outdoor learning and where parents and carers can sit and talk to each other while waiting for their children at the end of school.

Today we played outside in the sunshine. We enjoyed catch the ball with Mrs Shields, building Lego and even making meals for others in our imaginary McDonald’s.

Our boys and girls were very excited this morning about going to Presentation P.S. to meet up with their new friends. We began by playing a few space games, followed by a fun-filled Play-based Learning session and finishing off our day by watching the ‘Smeds and Smoos’ film together.

P6M travelled to Armagh County Museum today to participate in an art workshop with local artist Orlaith Cullinane. They used the current A E Russell exhibition as inspiration to learn the techniques to create their own 3D pop up art work on the theme of ‘From the Sea.’

Have a look at our science experiments that we enjoyed participating in for British Science Week. We had fun making predictions and then seeing what happened. We did a rainbow colour-run sweet experiment, made raisins dance and made lemon volcanoes.
