This month has seen the children working happily along side, and with each other. There has been great enjoyment and learning through outdoor play. The children have been getting creative in the garden. There has been many perfumes, potions and food made with mud, water, flowers and other outdoor items the children have found. We also created a huge giant called Everest using items we found outside. This was inspired from our reading of fairy tales this month. In the classroom we have been using our imagination, creating our own fairy tale characters, and making our own characters and settings out of junk. The children have also putting their problem solving skills to the test, completing 28 piece jigsaws independently!

We have been learning about Fairytales this month, planting seeds and decorating gingerbread men. We have been developing our imagination and creativity in the home corner. It has been lovely to get back into our nursery garden again this month- planting, digging and creating delicious recipes in our mud station!

Primary 3 are always actively learning through all the hands on activities.  This week we were taste testing some different breads, discovering smells, touches and flavours we experienced when tasting our very well known Potato Bread.  Then investigating through puppets, building our vocabulary with sound stones and creating our own songs with some musical instruments to link to a favourite nursery rhyme.

Just take a look at our activities.......

Both P2 classes went to the Marketplace Theatre to watch a play-Eddy the Teddy’s Zoo Adventure. It was very interactive and we got to sing songs with Eddy the Teddy, who played his guitar. Sammy, Eddys friend, joined in the fun too.
Have a look at our pictures as the children had a blast!!

Our second basketball session with Peace Players took place on Tuesday. We went back into our groups and after some fun ice breakers we learnt about the different passes you can make during basketball. After lots of relay races, where each group had to practice their passing skills, we took part in the Peace Player's autography challenge. We collected autographs from pupils from the other school and found we had lots in common with our Shared Ed partners! We are already looking forward to our next session!
