We have been learning about Roman soldiers as part of our WAU topic for term 3. Roman soldiers were well trained and equipped and had very good weapons, one of which was the Onager, a type of catapult used to hurl projectiles. We made our own versions this week and had great fun seeing how far we could hurl our paper balls. Earlier on this term we used a tuning fork to make sound vibrations splashed water. This was also great fun.
We had a great day yesterday on our trip to The Ark. We met the Meer Cats, fed the alpacas and got to handle baby chicks and guinea pigs. We had a lovely time, as you can see from the photos.
Well done to Mrs Woods and the Eco Team for their work on securing our Green Flag. ON Tuesday 3rd June, Mr Frizzell, Mrs Woods and 3 members of the Eco Team were at a Reception and lunch at Craigavon Civic Centre to gain the award. Keep an eye out for the flag flying high!
