Today we carried out an experiment to find out whether 6 classroom items would sink or float. We made a prediction for each item and then tested whether it would sink to the bottom of the container or float to the top. Then we tested our boats that the boys and girls had made as a technology project, to see if they would float! Thankfully all of our boats stayed afloat!

This week we have been reading the story ‘Mister Seahorse’ by Eric Carle and many of our sentence writing literacy activities have been based on this interesting story. We also enjoyed making our own colourful seahorses by colouring in on tinfoil, spraying our pattern with water and pressing our template on top to give a stunning watercolour effect.

Today our P1 boys and girls got to make their own Easter nest chocolate buns to be eaten at their class party! First, we broke up our chocolate, melted it in the microwave and then stirred in lots of Rice Krispies. Next, we spooned the mixture into bun cases, before adding mini eggs to each of our nests. It was very hard not to eat them straight away!!!! During our literacy lesson, we labelled and coloured our pictures, displaying our step-by-step process.
