What a great way to explore some nouns around us!

We were so interested in Literacy time this morning 👏⭐️😊
During Literacy this week, P5DK have been learning about homophones. They now know that a homophone is a word that sounds the same but is spelt differently and has a different meaning. Working in groups they played a homophones game.
Newsdesk is an excellent resource from C2k, with lots of very interesting and often topical news stories. As an added extra, the children can post comments after reading their story/factfile, or after watching an educational video. P5P really enjoyed this new activity and are keen to return to it in the near future.

As part of the measuring topic in Numeracy, P5DK had to calculate the perimeter of shapes. Having done this in class and with it being such a beautiful day, the pupils went outside to measure and calculate the perimeter of objects in the playground. They used metre sticks, rulers, measuring tapes and trundle wheels.
