P4S have been learning all about 3D shapes this week, so this morning we ventured out around the school to spot some real life examples. The children found lots. It was quite difficult to find a sphere but see if you can guess what we spotted from the last photo.

P7T we’re learning about positive mental health focusing on the importance of keeping a growth mindset. Sometimes it is easy to get negative about ourselves, and this can impact our confidence, self belief and self esteem. By changing our words, we can change our mindset. Instead of saying, ‘I can’t do this’ or ‘I won’t do this’, we can use some of these great growth mindset alternatives from P7T.

This term the children in P1 have been learning about the Signs of Autumn. During Play Based Learning the children worked in groups to roller paint a background for their tree paintings. Today the children painted a tree trunk and branches and added beautiful autumn coloured leaves. The children are so proud of their work and I hope you agree each one is a 'Work of Art.' Well done everyone!!

P4R have been very busy enjoying the outdoors during our topic of ‘Trees’ this term. We took the opportunity (while the rain stayed away!) to search the school grounds for acorns, conkers and different types of leaves. There was lots of excitement among the class when they planted their own acorn in the hope to grow a beautiful oak tree. The children used old plastic bottles, yogurt pots and milk cartons to encourage awareness of our environment and how we can ‘Reduce, Reuse and Recycle’ efficiently. Let’s hope by the spring, there will be lots of little sapling trees outside!
