We had great fun exploring which body part to move on our Elves today!
Learning how parts move using split pins.
We had a special treat this morning in P1 making melted snowmen. We made the icing for our biscuits together and then decorated them ourselves. We didn't need any help eating them all up.
P7T have enjoyed learning about the Human Body over the last couple of weeks. There has been many wonderful questions about the many different organs and their functions. Today, we learned about the lungs, and how they work. Secondly, only to our Hearts, the Diaphragm is the most important muscle in the body. It allows us to breathe and controls our intake of air. Pupils were tasked to try to recreate its functionality using some plastic bottles, bin liner, a rubber band and a balloon. As you can see, they did a great job. :-)
The children were delighted to receive their Mathletics certificates for December.
P7T did excellently in improving their drawing skills mimicking the many different movements of the human body. Starting with photographs of different sporting positions from diving goalkeepers and jumping ballerinas, pupils using circles drew moving bodies before transferring them onto to card to be stuck onto painted backgrounds. Pupils really enjoyed it and did extra well.
Today, in P5P, the boys and girls made Christmas cards for the residents of a local care home. They spent a lot of time writing personal messages to brighten up someone special’s Christmas! Well done!
P3 learned about and made Christingles today. We left the candle lighting for when they got home.
P3 completed The Jungle run by running their Killer K each week. Well done! We also have some hard working children who achieved bronze awards in Mathletics. Great job!
