P5DK are enjoying working through the Barnardo’s activities in class this term. They have played bingo, learning about what life is like for different people, understanding the diversity that exists in families and respect charades.
P7MM’s WAU topic for Term 3 is The Titanic. In Art, we explored the work and life of a local artist, Adrian Margey from Kilrea who has a studio in Portrush.
His paintings are contemporary and traditional depictions of Ireland’s landscapes, iconic landmarks and musical traditions. One of his paintings is entitled ‘Reflecting H&W’ and includes the famous Samson and Goliath cranes.
We painted our interpretations of this painting and the results were amazing!
P3 had great fun during ABL showing off their amazing imaginations and social skills.
P7MM practised the 24 Game in anticipation of the challenge with Miss Shipley😊.
The aim is to be the quickest to make the number 24 by adding,subtracting, dividing or multiplying using all 4 numbers on the card.

The children were so glad to be able to play together and chat about their favourite bread type. Our new topic for WAU is bread and what fun buying and selling in our class Bakery.
They also enjoyed moulding breads in play dough and creating a bakery shop in Lego this week.

Our P1TA boys and girls thoroughly enjoyed todays art activity and are so proud of their work. I am sure you will agree that their painted daffodils and decorated patterned vase are amazing! What artists we have in our class!
We have been having fun making hot air balloons for our beautiful transport display board. As we learn all about different modes of transport, we will get creative and complete our board 😍
The children planted beans before the Easter break and when we returned we were so surprised to see how tall they had grown. We have been learning to name the parts of a plant and today we saw the long roots, stem and leaves. We each took a bean plant home to take care of and hopefully we will see bean pods very soon.
