Have a look at our fabulous World Book Day costumes! We enjoyed lots of fun activities, including making a bookmark, drawing our favourite book character and going on a book scavenger hunt. A big thank you to Janet Compston from the library, who came to read us a fantastic story called ‘This book ate my dog’. We finished off our day by reading Mrs Eakin’s favourite book, ‘The Gruffalo’.

The boys and girls had lots of fun celebrating World Book Day. They made a ‘Book in a Box’ in small groups, with fantastic results.

The children had a wonderful day celebrating World Book Day. It was amazing to look at all the ‘Book In A Box’ masterpieces that the children made. The time and effort that went into making them was fantastic! We took part in the BBC live lesson and then got the opportunity to complete a variety of different activities in class.

Everyone looked fantastic in their costumes and we all enjoyed lots of themed activities and a BBC live lesson. We even had a librarian visit our classroom and she read us two funny books.

In P2H we looked closely at the work of Matisse the famous artist. He created large paper collages and he called the technique ‘painting with scissors’. We experimented with coloured paper and used his collage ‘ The Snail’ as inspiration for our own creations. Have a look at our photos.
