P5DK had a lovely week in Literacy learning about and using a variety of different drama techniques. They also learnt lots of interesting facts about the Ancient Egyptians through poetry. They worked in small groups to learn a verse of a poem called The Mummy. Here are some photos to show them in action.
P7’s first numeracy lesson of the new term was a problem solving lines of symmetry task, where pupils had to make their own alien mask. Using co-ordinates on squared paper; pupils had to plot points and then by using symmetry reflect the same point on the other side of the face. Pupils were quick and very inquisitive to see where the other points could be plotted. Different pupils came up with different strategies, with all pupils enjoying their first main activity back in school. Well done P7 🙂
Primary Seven reacquainted themselves with the Scratch programme this afternoon by completing a task involving shape and lines of symmetry. Pupils had to use the coding programme to direct their sprite to move and create a four sided shape, turning at 90 degrees to build a square. Pupils had time to experiment and familiarise themselves before completing the activity. Pupils did a great job. Well done P7. We aim to complete more lines of symmetry on more difficult shapes later in the week.
During Term 1A, P7MM learned about Rainforests. The children really enjoyed finding out about these amazing places. Here are some photos of the creative work we did during the topic.

We have been learning lots of new letter sounds recently. Today we enjoyed a Party as we were learning all about letter sound 'Pp'. We made Party hats, place mats and we enjoyed fizzy pop, popcorn, party ring biscuits and some Percy pigs. We all had a super time and our apple buns were yummy too.
We have been learning all about Apples this term. We did an observational painting of an apple and today we stewed some apples and made little apple buns for our Party. Have a look at our great work.
Since the children returned to school at the end of August, they have been enjoying three Healthy Kidz sessions a week with Coach Steve and Coach Jamie. Everyone has thoroughly enjoyed improving their fitness levels through fun, engaging activities.
