Pamela from ABC gave P5P a very informative talk on how to look after our Environment. At the end of the talk, all the boys and girls were very keen to make a difference for the better in their local area.
We had lots of fun at The Giant’s Lair in search of charms that Myrtle the trickster fairy had to try and waken up the sleeping giant Slieve Gullion!
What a surprise we had today when two little lambs visited us in Nursery. We thought they were very soft and fluffy and also nice and warm. Thank you to Mr Davison for bringing them in!

P2 have been extremely busy this term. We have been learning all about growth and we even had a visit from some lambs. We also hope that you all enjoyed our assembly last week.
We are taking part in the BIG BATTERY HUNT. Please put all used batteries in one of our boxes and return to school on or before the 7th June. If you need more than one box, just ask. The more batteries we collect for recycling the better chance we have of winning some brilliant prizes.
Batteries are made from a variety of chemicals to power their reactions. Some of these chemicals, such as nickel and cadmium, are extremely toxic, and can cause damage to humans and the environment. In particular, they can cause soil and water pollution and endanger wildlife.
Miss Rowland brought her grandad in to talk about what school was like in 1935. He started when the school was first opened. The children enjoyed hearing all about his antics and he loved telling them.

We have enjoyed many activities this month in relation to our topic of Spring. In particular we have been learning about flowers and baby animals. As we have begun incubating our eggs so they will hatch in time for Easter it has been great fun exploring with eggs at the play-dough table and in the water tray. Have a look at all the fun we have been having.
We decorated glass jars and filled them with flowers for our Mummy’s. Thank you for being the best ever!
