Tuesday 11th June 2019 - Primary 7 have arrived safely in Edinburgh and have had a great first day travelling by bus and boat! Pupils enjoyed the journey across the Irish sea - and were obviously excited in anticipation at what is ahead in the days ahead. First stop in the Scottish mainland was the coastal town of Girvan where pupils got to stretch their legs and make use of the play park faciltiies. Next, it was up to the city of Glasgow to visit the Science Centre, pupils were impressed with the main different science experiements - from magnetics to optical illusions - there was plenty to keep the kids entertained. Pupils ate their lunch here and got back on the bus to make the journey across to the historical capital city of Edinburgh. Pupils enjoyed taking in their new surroundings with many commenting on the stone walls and traditional look. Arriving safely at the Claremont Hotel, pupils enjoyed exploring their bedrooms and were happy to get more food! Pupils ended this evening playing in the park adjecant to the hotel. A long but memorable first day. Kids are in bed to get some rest ahead of a packed schedule exploring the centre of Edinburgh! They've behaved brilliantly today and have conducted themselves very well. Great job so far!

Today the children were on stage putting on a performance for their parents and all the children in our school. Each child had a part to play and they all did a fantastic job remembering their lines, saying poems and singing songs. We are so proud of you, Well done everyone.
The children enjoyed a fun filled, action packed day during their recent visit to Streamvale. They learned about what happens on a working farm from our guide and the children (and adults) were able to hold, feed and stroke many of the animals. Following a picnic lunch they had time to play on the hay slides and in the indoor games area and outdoor play area.
We had our last session with Steve from Healthy Kidz. We all have absolutely loved our sessions and have become fitter in the process😊

School Council can help to recycle them.
Just put them in a bag and give them to your child to bring into school.
A local company collects all the bags, weighs them & our school gets money for every kilogram collected. So, the more we collect, the more money our school gets.
Even if you only have a few things, please send them in. Every litte counts!! It’s also better for our environment to recycle!!

We have had a very busy month learning about mini-beasts. We went on a mini-beast hunt in our nursery garden and found millipedes, wood louse, wriggly worms, slugs, snails and spiders. We also found lots of snails in our own gardens at home and brought them into nursery where we set up a snail house. We observed how the snails moved very slowly leaving lots of slimy, silvery trails. We have enjoyed painting butterfly and snail pictures, making mini-beasts using recyclable materials as well as having fun making a spider's web in the sand tray and a wibbly wobbly jelly pond for frogs.
