Our P1 boys and girls were set a technology task to make a toy using junk materials. During talking and listening sessions the children have been discussing the materials they used, how they joined these together and who helped them complete this challenge. What faboulous toys they all are, well done everyone!!

We brought our favourite toys into school to help us complete an observational drawing as part of our Art work. We used graphite pencils to draw our toy and coloured it with oil pastels. Have a look at the super drawings by our boys and girls.

Today we enjoyed a fabulous trip to Armagh County Museum to learn about Toys from the Past. The children thoroughly enjoyed finding out about the materials the toys were made from and compared them to modern day toys. They had great fun finding out how each toy worked and were all keen to have a turn playing with them. The children were surprised to learn that in the past children only received a toy twice a year - at Christmas and on their birthday. Each child made a simple peg toy - a doll or aeroplane to take home. A great time was had by all.

Thanks to all of you who donated to this charity before Christmas. On Friday 17th December we all wore our Christmas jumpers or festive outfits.
We raised a phenomenal £735.40 so many thanks. The cheque was handed over this morning to Rebecca who came into school to represent this very worthy charity.
