Latest News - P1TA
This term the children in P1 have been learning about the Signs of Autumn. During Play Based Learning the children worked in groups to roller paint a background for their tree paintings. Today the children painted a tree trunk and branches and added beautiful autumn coloured leaves. The children are so proud of their work and I hope you agree each one is a 'Work of Art.' Well done everyone!!
Congratulations to our P1 children who were awarded Certificates for their fabulous achievements during the month of September. We also celebrated with our September 'Good to be Green' Raffle Prize Winner who demonstrated exemplary behaviour and chose his prize from the visiting trolley earlier this week. Well done boys and girls.
We have been learning how to use technology in our classroom. Have a look at us engaged in listening games, drawing our faces and following instructions to create faces on the IWB, playing games on the IPad and practising our mouse control while using the computer.
We have had lots of fun learning all about numbers. We have been ordering, counting, making sets, writing and making play doh numbers 1, 2 & 3.
We are delighted to welcome our children into P1. They have settled in really well and are particularly enjoying their play time experiences. Have a look at what we have all been getting up to.
The children have been learning about floating and sinking in their WAU topic and their technology task was to make a boat that floats. With the help of parents and grandparents the children made such fabulous boats, as you will see. Today the children talked about and described the materials they used to make their boat with and explained how they attached each part of their boat. We all had to predict by giving the thumbs up sign if we thought the boat would float or the thumbs down if we thought it would sink. I hope you enjoy looking at the children's excited faces as they place their boats in our water tray.
In art this term we have been working with clay. The children had to flatten and pinch their ball of clay to form a fish shape. They decorated it with sequins and painted it to represent the Rainbow fish which we have been reading in class. What a great job boys and girls, well done!!
Congratulations to our P1 boys and girls who received Celebration Award Certificates and also to Priya our Good to be Green Raffle Prize Winner. Well done everyone.
