Technology investigation this half term is to build a working lighthouse. P5D have started the process of using a variety of materials to make a lighthouse that has a working lightbulb and switch. The photos show the progress so far. More photos to follow when they have used wires, batteries, bulbs and switches to make a circuit that lights up the bulb for the top of the lighthouse.

Before Christmas, the children in P6M entered the Young Writers competition. The challenge was to write a mini saga entitled “Crazy Creatures” in no more than 100 words. Some boys and girls in the class received some fantastic news today. Their work has been selected to be published in a book to mark their achievement on the 8th of March 2024. We cannot wait to see the finished copy of this book. Well done to those selected.

Our topic in P1 this term is ‘Toys’ and after the Christmas break, children have enjoyed sharing about their new toys! Today the children brought a favourite toy to school and enjoyed participating in a ‘Show and tell’, developing their talking and listening skills. We also had fun drawing our favourite toys in an observational art lesson.
