During ABL (Activity Based Learning), the children planted their own sunflower seeds, made a paper and card bird using a muffin case as the base, and dressed up as ‘twitchers’ - people who are very keen bird watchers. The sunflower seeds in their pots have been taken home and should be kept moist.  They can be planted out when the seedlings are strong.  These are the dwarf variety so won’t grow too tall.

We lost an hour this weekend and some of the children were tired so we did some gentle hand massage and gentle fanning as our nurture activities. As always, the children were asked if they gave permission for their partner to touch their hands and extra sensitive moisturising cream was used.

Back in December, we surveyed our parents and guardians on all things 'Hart!'  We asked parents questions regarding their child; their experiences when visiting our school; and what they see the main strengths and areas for development to be in our school.
This data was analysed in January and February and we are now pleased to provide you with the results.  Alongside the results, we have also included comments to answer any queries etc which were raised.  Please read and consider these carefully.
As a school, we were absolutely delighted with the results of the survey and the high regard which you have for our school.
Moving forward, we will be using this data, and many other data sources, to help steer our school for the next 3 years.
May I, on behalf of the whole school community, thank you for your contribution.

Mr A Frizzell

P5D celebrated World Maths Day today as they were away on a trip last Friday. They had a very busy day starting with Mathletics and Times Tables Rock Stars. Then it was into the school hall to complete lots of physical Numeracy activities. The day was finished by working in pairs to work through Numeracy challenges.

This week we explored the World Around Us (WAU) outdoors. We listened to bird calls, observed the different birds that are around our school grounds and got creative with natural materials. Take a look at our super birds made from twigs, moss and grass.

In ABL this week we were using dough to create handwriting rules, on the ground, below the ground, and above the ground.

We had a freeze and melt science experiment to explore which body part could melt the ice cube the quickest!

And we used bird feathers to paint!

Take a look...

We grew some cress as part of our Growth topic and had a taste today!

The result was mixed! Some decided not to try, some tried and didn’t like it, some tried and thought it was lovely and some tried and thought it tasted of nothing!

We have been learning about the lifecycle of a frog this week.

We went outside today, to look at the tadpoles in our school pond.

Last week it was frog spawn. This week, there were so many tadpoles!!!
