We enjoyed the Safer Internet Day Activity set up by the ICT team and Digital Leaders this week. We had to go around the school, scanning QR codes that were situated around the school, read typical messages that may appear whilst we are on the internet and decide if it is a scam or not.

What a start we had to our week in P7 today!
We had a wonderful workshop from the Chinese Confucius Society from the University of Ulster. Yuan came into our classroom and demonstrated how to use chopsticks. She then challenged us to use them to eat popcorn! Some of us found it easier than others, but despite that, all the popcorn was eaten!!! We then did some blow painting of flowers and created some beautiful art work. The last activity in our classroom was learning how to spin a Chinese handkerchief - that was lots of fun!
After the workshop in the classroom, we were treated to an amazing display of Chinese Opera and dance in the hall were we learned all about the 'Changing Faces'. We also learned about the story of Nian and the significance of this for Chinese New Year.

A team of P7 pupils represented our school at the Credit Union Quiz in Portadown on Friday night. They had tough competition against a number of primary schools in the area. We are delighted to announce that they were the overall winners!!!
They are now through to the next stage in Armagh in March. The team were so happy with the win and we, as teachers in the audience were so proud. 😊

We have been working hard on IMPS - Investigative Maths and Problem-Solving.

Lots of discussion and communication were needed, as well as using our thinking skills!

We had to explain how we worked each one out too, which was very impressive. ⭐️👏
