Mrs McNally led our assembly this morning, focusing on showing kindness, to finish off a week of activities for Anti-bullying week.

She reminded us of the importance of showing kindness to others, and talked about the positive ripple effect of an act of kindness.

P5D had a wonderful day at the Armagh Planetarium. They got to watch a show in the space dome, this allowed them to travel in space and learn about all the planets. In pairs they were able to build and make rockets and launch them in the grounds outside. Finally, the boys and girls got to view and enjoy the interactive exhibitions, dress up as astronauts and learn lots of interesting facts about space.

P5D went down to the field to organise the planets into the correct order. They had great fun working together as a class.

P5D used the Adobe Express app to deign a poster about the mummification process the Ancient Egyptians performed. The children throughly enjoyed exploring and using this app and it was a great way to finish off the WAU topic they have studied this half term.

We were very fortunate to have the Reverend William Orr leading our assembly this morning. He talked the story of Lazarus in the Bible and the importance of having Jesus in our lives.

On Thursday 3rd October we had a real life Ancient Egyptian came to visit P5D. The boys and girls got to learn all about life in Ancient Egypt. It was a very interesting afternoon that they all throughly enjoyed.

Pupils in P5D loved using the IZAK 9 cubes to compete problem solving tasks in Numeracy today. They worked very well in groups and had great fun.

We were very fortunate to have Laurence Bellew from Hope Community Church, Craigavon speaking to us in assembly this morning. He spoke about the importance of having a ‘FLIP’ attitude and knowing how special we are to God, no matter what negativity we hear. We really enjoyed his singing!

P5D are learning about the Ancient Egyptians during WAU lessons this half term. Today they learnt about the different types of canonic jars that were used to store body parts. They used clay to each make their own canopic jar.
