P6M discussed the qualities they would like to have in a good friend. They learnt what it means to have empathy in life and explored how to deal with bullying though drama activities.

Today the children explored the themes of self esteem and self expression. The boys and girls looked at ways to boost their self esteem and were encouraged to look for the positives in all situations. The children also discussed how to understand their emotions and to express their feelings to others in a healthy and positive way.

Today P6M discussed the need for money in life and the different methods of payment when purchasing items. They also discussed currency used in different countries, before designing their own currency.

We were delighted to have Laurence from Hope Community Church again today, to lead our assembly. He spoke about: Contentment, Respect, Gratitude and Kindness. 


Some of the P7 Digital leaders also spoke to us as part of our Safer Internet Day work that has been happening all week.

This week the children focused on Feelings and Emotional Wellbeing through fun activities in small groups.

The children had a fantastic time at W5, with their Shared Education partner class from Presentation Primary. The boys and girls had time to explore each level at W5 and participated in the ‘Fit to Go’ workshop with their own class. Here, they learnt all about the human body. The children also had the opportunity to go on to the Climbit structure. A wonderful day with good friends!

P6M used the IZAK 9 resource to explore nets of a cube. In groups, the children Plan, Do, then Review the task.

The children recently participated in week 1 of the ‘Healthy Me’ programme, with Laura from Action Mental Health. P6M discussed feelings and how different factors can change the way we feel. The children explored strategies on how to have a positive mindset and breathing techniques to help us feel calm when annoyed or stressed. The children also discussed the importance of having good physical health, to have good mental health. We really look forward to exploring the rest of the programme with Laura over the next few weeks.

The Dairy Council visited P6 children to discuss the importance of having a healthy, balanced lifestyle. The boys and girls understand the benefits of eating the right foods and exercising daily, to have both a healthy body and mind.

We had Mrs Lee as a guest in our assembly this morning, She talked about a new programme we will be focusing on in school, called TREK.
The T stands for Trust and she reminded us of the importance of trust in all our relationships and in school life.
