Back in December, we surveyed our parents and guardians on all things 'Hart!'  We asked parents questions regarding their child; their experiences when visiting our school; and what they see the main strengths and areas for development to be in our school.
This data was analysed in January and February and we are now pleased to provide you with the results.  Alongside the results, we have also included comments to answer any queries etc which were raised.  Please read and consider these carefully.
As a school, we were absolutely delighted with the results of the survey and the high regard which you have for our school.
Moving forward, we will be using this data, and many other data sources, to help steer our school for the next 3 years.
May I, on behalf of the whole school community, thank you for your contribution.

Mr A Frizzell

P2H have been extremely busy this week. We discussed our new topic-Plants and Growth and used a KWL grid to write down everything we knew about this topic. We then thought of questions we could explore to help us find out more.
in Literacy, we read Jack and the Beanstalk and learnt that an adjective describes a noun. We thought of lots of adjectives to describe the giant in the story and played a game in pairs, matching the correct adjective to the correct noun. We wrote about our favourite part of the story.
As it was Science week, we completed a lesson on See and Eat sprouting Vegetables. We discovered the ‘field to fork’ journey of a carrot and Mrs Heare brought in carrots for us to look at closely. We even got a chance to complete an observational drawing of them.

Mrs Lee brought some of us outside to plant violas!
Carlos from Hip n Happy visited our class to help us to always remember to make good choices. He told us to stop, take 2 deep breaths and make the right choice!

We also got the bee-bots out and used our coding skills to program.

In Numeracy, we counted 2p’s and were able to use them to make amounts.
To end the week  we had a party to celebrate Bethany’s birthday and winning the Shoe Box Prize for Foundation stage last week on World Book Day.

In P2H we looked closely at the work of Matisse the famous artist. He created large paper collages and he called the technique ‘painting with scissors’. We experimented with coloured paper and used his collage ‘ The Snail’ as inspiration for our own creations.  Have a look at our photos.

We have had such a fun day today in school. First, we had a story and then made our favourite character masks. Next,  we made book marks and went on a story treasure hunt. Finally, we had a visit from a librarian who read us a funny story about a dog which made us laugh and laugh.

In Literacy we have been completing comprehension questions on bears, sorting words into alphabetical order and making sure our letters are formed correctly.   We are working hard in Numeracy lessons looking at ways to make 8 and 9 using cubes.  We have really enjoyed learning all about Henri Matisse in Art and made a collage picture in his style with brightly coloured shapes. We also made pop up cards during structured play to say thankyou to Mr Frizzell for coming to our class. During our internet safety lessons we were able look out for scams!

This week we had a visit from Mrs McClelland’s teddies. We found out that Morgan, the biggest teddy is 14 years old, Ted the smallest teddy is 2 years old and Bert, the middle sized teddy is the 45 years old!

Bert and Mrs Heare’s teddy, Donald, got on like a house on fire.
