P6M have thoroughly enjoyed learning about the Vikings topic this term as part of World Around Us. They have been writing about an adventurous Viking raid, followed instructions to make their own longship and are currently creating their own Vicious Viking character in Art. Keep up the amazing work boys and girls!😀👏
The children worked in pairs and small groups to design then create their own 3-wheeled vehicle to carry Fairtrade food and goods to market (wheels on the vehicle had to move). This was part of their World Around topic Fairtrade. I think they did an amazing job. Well done P6!
P6 have been enjoying learning to play the different notes on their recorders during music.
P6 have been looking at tessellation in Numeracy this week. They created their own tessellating pattern using a lizard template. They did a fantastic job.
Both P6 classes had a fantastic time recently at their Viking trip in the Navan Centre and Fort, Armagh. There they participated in workshops to find out more about their World Around Us topic and even met two very vicious Vikings.
The children had great fun planning and making their very own picture frame. A project which involved literacy, (planning) Numeracy (measuring) and technology (cutting and gluing the pieces of wood).They demonstrated great team work and problem solving skills working together to fix any mistakes. Their frames are looking fantastic and will be a great new display at home.
The children very kindly shared their hopes and dreams for the future with their teacher and classmates. Mrs McLeod believes in each child and knows that they can all achieve their dreams with hard work and determination. Remember us all at the Hart when you’ re rich and famous boys and girls!🤗.
The children participate in one 30 minute Healthy Kidz session every Wednesday. They focus on developing their speed, agility, balance, flexibility and strength through structured activity stations. They also focus on running a Killer K marked out circuit twice a week to develop their stamina and enjoyment of physical activity💪🏃🏃♀️.
As part of instructions some lucky children had the very special treat of making themselves toast. They then used Pic Collage on the iPad to present their picture and written instructions on how to make this.
