The children had lots of fun writing Viking Sagas in small groups today. They then read them aloud to their peers.

Mrs McNally led our assembly today discussing the difference between equality and equity and how sometimes things can feel like they are ‘not fair’ and why this is.

The boys and girls worked well in small groups to solve problems using the IZAK 9 cubes.

The P6 children visited the Navan Centre and Fort in Armagh today. Here, they met two Viking characters who taught them more about the life of a Viking warrior. They were shown how a Viking trained with various weapons and how these weapons were made. The children also had the opportunity to write with quill and ink like the monks did in the monasteries during these times. Both P6 classes has a fantastic day.

The Key Stage 2 pupils were treated a visit from the Reverend William Orr, who led the assembly. He told us the story of Moses from the Bible and encouraged us to show love and kindness to others. We always enjoy a visit from Reverend Orr!

The boys and girls used Adobe Express to create their own ‘Wanted Viking Poster.’ They worked extremely hard on this ICT task, and all did a fantastic job. Well done P6M, you are a very talented class!

The children in P6M had the opportunity to take part in a writing project yesterday. Together, they worked with the Fighting Words mentors to write a chapter of a book, following on from a chapter written by a school in Monaghan. Once the book has been completed by a collection of schools, the team will revisited P6 to read them the full story, before the book is published. This workshop was a valuable learning experience for all of the children.
