Valentines Fun!
We had a red day in school to celebrate Valentines day. Look at all the fun we had!
A visit from the Fire Services
Nicky the fire fighter came to visit. He talked to us about fire safety and how hot fire is. We watched as he put on his kit which keeps him safe when he fights fires and we got to try on the fire helmet. Some of us decided that we would like to be fire fighters when we grow up!
Bring a Dad Morning
As part of our Education Works Programme we invited our Dad’s to help us create a model from junk art materials based on our topic of ‘people who help us’. We enjoyed a great mornings work and had lots of fun.
Visit from the PSNI
The PSNI visited nursery to teach us about stranger danger as part of our ‘people who help us topic’.
Trip to Tesco
We had a lovely morning out shopping for our snack in Tesco. Before we went we talked about what items we needed and wrote out a shopping list. It was good fun looking at all the colourful fruits and vegetables, talking to the butcher, fishmonger and visiting the bakery. The best bit was taking turns to be the shop keeper and scan all the items in our basket!
RSPB Visit
We have been learning about how important it is to look after the birds during the winter months. Kathryn from the RSPB came to visit us to demonstrate how we can make a garden that the birds and mini-beasts will love to visit. We also did a spot of birdwatching to identify which birds are visiting our garden. We saw Robins, blue tits, blackbirds, a dove and starlings.
We had lots of fun at our Christmas Party and had a very special visitor join us!
We had a great day at Spruce Meadows where we enjoyed Christmas crafts, a bouncy castle, a reptile viewing and a visit to see SANTA!
