Mix a pancake, stir a pancake, pop it in the pan

Fry a pancake, toss a pancake, catch it if you can!

We had lots of fun reading the recipe, learning how to measure out the ingredients and making our pancakes. The best bit was choosing our topping and eating them of course....YUM 😋

In preparation for our trip to Asda we discussed what we could buy for our snack and wrote a shopping list. We also discussed that we would have to bring a purse with some money and a re-useable bag to put our shopping into. When at Asda we enjoyed visiting the meat counter, fish counter, bakery and finding all the items on our list and then scanning them at the till and paying for them. Back in Nursery we enjoyed preparing the fruit and fresh bread for our snack. It was delicious!

As part of our topic we enjoyed a shopping trip to ASDA to buy some groceries for our snack. We made a list before we went and had fun going around the different departments looking for all the things on our list. Before leaving we we took our items to the til where we scanned, paid and packed our groceries before coming back to school.

Karen from the  RSPB came to visit us in Nursery to support us in our topic of Winter. Over the past week we have been busy making bird feeders and bird food which we have hung out to feed the birds when they are struggling to find food. It has been very exciting birdwatching to see which birds visit our Nursery. We saw a robin, a black bird and a chaffinch feeding at our ‘home made’ feeders.

We helped Karen to make a garden mat as she told us a story about what makes a good garden and about the important role birds have to play in our gardens. We can’t wait to see what other birds might visit in the next few weeks!

We had a lovely visit from Karen from the RSPB who told us about lots of different birds who visit our gardens, how we can help them and what food we can put out for them during the winter. We also went outside to see what birds we could spot in our Nursery garden. We were very excited when a little Robin Redbreast flew down to say hello and enjoy the bird food we had made and put out for them.
