We have been learning the colour brown so we had a brown day when we wore or brought in something brown.

This month we have really enjoyed the story of ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’ so we went on our very own bear hunt in the Nursery garden. We couldn’t go over or under so we had lots of fun going through, swishy swashy grass, thick oozy mud, a splishy sploshy river, a dark forest, a swirling  whirling snowstorm and a narrow, gloomy cave!

Peter Pan's

We enjoyed a trip to Peter Pan's with Christian Brother's Nursery. It was fun playing together and getting to know each other at snack. We look forward to visiting the Nursery children from Christian Brother’s at their school and inviting them to visit us after Christmas.

We’re going on a bear hunt

We went on a bear hunt outside and had fun re-inacting the story. We went through the long wavy grass, the deep cold river, the thick oozy mud, the big dark  forest, the swirling whirling snowstorm and the NARROW GLOOMY CAVE!

We also enjoyed learning about the colour brown as we brought or wore something brown to Nursery.

We enjoyed a range of fine and gross motor activities both indoors and outdoors with a member of our family. The challenge was to beat the clock and complete the activities to achieve the highest number of turns possible. We know how important physical activity is and have been learning that children can have fun, grow and develop with the everyday resources and equipment around the house. Even on a cold, frosty morning getting out into the fresh air lifted our spirits and it didn’t take us too long to warm up when we got into our activities. Well done to everyone who came along!

It was lovely to have our parents come to Nursery and stay to read books to their children during our book fair. We enjoyed reading new stories as well as snuggling in to a few familiar reads. The importance of sharing books and fostering an interest in books to support the development of each child is widely recognised. We know that through our ‘Big Bedtime Read’ programme our Nursery children will have access to many books and stories throughout the year.

We had great fun with Jo Jingles as we sang songs, played instruments and moved to lots of minibeast music!
