Porridge Party!

This week in Primary 1, as part of our Global Learning lesson on ‘World Hunger’, we had a ‘Porridge Party’. This was in association with Mary’s Meals, a charity which serves school meals to children living in some of the world’s poorest countries. In Milawi, Zambia and Zimbabwe, Mary’s Meals serve children mugs of vitamin-enriched porridge to help them learn and grow. Through pupil donations, we were able to raise money to help Mary’s Meals feed a child every day for a school year. This was an amazing opportunity for our children to learn about the importance of helping others.

Celebrating 1 month of P1!

With the end of September approaching we wanted to celebrate the end of our first month in P1.  We have settled in really well and enjoying all areas of learning including: Literacy, Numeracy, Indoor/ Outdoor play, P.E., music, art and PDMU.

We are special & unique.

Over the past few weeks our topic has all been about ourselves.  We looked at pictures of ourselves as babies, decorated our names and thought about our families. We are still learning new routines and making great friendships in P1.

We are so pleased with how all the girls and boys in P1 have settled in.  This week we have been learning about the letter ‘s’ and the number 1.  We have also had our first Healthy Kidz lesson with Coach Steve.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
P1 Sports Day

We had so much fun taking part in the various activities this morning. Thankfully the weather was on our side for such a lovely morning of fun. 

 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Shared Education
14th Jun 2023

To conclude our Shared Education days with Presentation Primary School, all the P1-3 classes who took part were able to enjoy an action packed fun day.  We had Zumba, a Healthy Kidz workout, face painting, inflatables and an ice lolly to cool us down on such a beautiful day! P1 Trip to Streamvale Farm

We had a fantastic day in the sun at Streamvale Farm! We went on a tractor ride, fed lots of animals and found out lots of interesting information about life on the farm! 

 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Coronation Celebrations
4th May 2023

To celebrate the King’s Coronation we enjoyed a whole school parade through the local community followed by a picnic lunch and games. 

 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Planting broad beans in P1AE
30th Mar 2023

Today we enjoyed planting broad beans as part of our Spring WAU topic. We also linked this with the story ‘Jack and the beanstalk’.
