The P1 boys and girls enjoyed a visit to Armagh County Museum to learn more about toys. We had the opportunity to play with toys from the past and to find out about how they were different from toys we might play with nowadays. We talked about the materials used to make toys and about how they move. The children made fabulous peg aeroplanes and peg dolls to bring home.

We have enjoyed learning about ‘more/less than’ this week, through lots of practical activities.

This week, we have been thinking about how we could look after the birds in our P1 garden, now that the weather is getting very cold. We had fun making cheerio bird feeders and seed balls.

We had our Christmas party today and what fun it was. We ate our jelly that we made in class on Monday along with some ice-cream. We then enjoyed some treats before burning off all the extra energy with a game of musical statues. We also played pass the parcel before having a disco with the other P1 class in the assembly hall.

P1 had a fantastic Christmas trip to the Navan Centre in Armagh. We were entertained with a Christmas play, before enjoying a Christmas story and making a Christmas craft. The children were also thrilled to get a present from Santa.

Today we came to school in our Christmas jumpers and had lots of fun completing our Golden Mile Santa Run.
