Today we were very excited to have a visit from Ian Paterson and his barn owls. Ian gave a very interesting and interactive talk to our class. The children (and adults!) even had an opportunity to hold “Loni” and “Fluffy”, the long-eared barn owl.
A great way to start our Term2b Topic- Birds. πŸ¦… 🦒 🐦

January has been a busy month in P3! As you can see from the images below, P3F have thoroughly embraced the Pirate topic! We have followed compass directions, discovered full, quarter and half turns and even counted pirates treasure! In literacy, we have written facts about famous pirates,  designed a wanted poster, composed and performed a sea shanty and had an afternoon speaking like pirates!!! Arrrrrh!
We worked on computers and the iPads during ICT. We discovered our pirate names, designed a pirate and used Chatterpix app to make them talk! We hope you enjoy looking through our photographs.

26th Oct 2022

This month we welcomed visitors from Oxford Island, the PSNI and the Amazing Journing Experience from Baptist Youth. We worked together problem solving with IZAK9. Primary 3F had lots of practise reading, following and writing instructions. We are very good at being bossy! We also undertook a science experiment in order to show how pollination occurs- this included lots of nectar (disguised as cheesy wotsits!).

In literacy, we have been learning all about instructions. We followed instructions in order to cross the road safely. Later in the week, we had a chance to write our own instructions.
We used acrylic paints to paint our clay minibeasts. We enjoyed learning about layering and brush technique, in order to achieve different outcomes.
We explored art and design in digital form and created ladybird pictures on the iPads.
Primary 3F also welcomed Sandra and Kathryn from Oxford Island today. We went on a minibeast hunt and learnt lots of interesting facts about mini beasts in our school environment.
