The whole school took part in Number Day to raise funds for NSPCC. We had a fantastic day in Room 8! We wore clothes with numbers on them and took part in fun Maths activities. We have been learning about Sir Robert Hart in our topic work so we completed artwork using numbers associated with him. The results were amazing!

Well done to Peyton, our Healthy Kidz Star of the Week, to Ollie and Taylor for achieving Celebration Certificates for the month of January and to Lily, Sophie and Eva for achieving their target in Accelerated Reader and winning a prize. Congratulations to you allπππππππππ
Today P7s had some very special visitors from the Confucius Society in the University of Ulster. Today is Chinese New Year, which the the children have been learning about as part of our Robert Hart and China.
We learned about the origins of Chinese New Year; the monster Nian. Some of the children got to dress up in a dragon costume and a panda costume. We learned how to say Hello and Happy New Year in Mandarin. We also listened to some beautiful music on traditional Chinese instruments - have a listen to the videos below. Finally, we were given individual mask packs so that each child could decorate their own mask! Everyone really enjoyed the morning!
Thanks to all of you who donated to this charity before Christmas. On Friday 17th December we all wore our Christmas jumpers or festive outfits.
We raised a phenomenal £735.40 so many thanks. The cheque was handed over this morning to Rebecca who came into school to represent this very worthy charity.

P7MM made a model lung to finish off their Healthy Humans topics. The model worked exactly like our lungs work!
P7s have been working hard over the last couple of weeks to finish their Christmas stockings - don’t they look fantastic!!
P7s enjoyed making Melting Snowmen Biscuits and drinking hot chocolate as a little pre-Christmas treat this week!
Lots of children wore Christmas jumpers on Friday to raise money for Cancer Fund for Children. Everyone was looking very festive!

The Healthy Kidz Star of the Week Award went to Aron this week for demonstrating great skill and teamwork during our hockey sessions. πππ
