Latest News - P7MM
Our topic this half term has been Happy Humans. We’ve spent this week learning about the heart and how it pumps blood all around our bodies. Today, we tested how four different exercises affected our heart rate. As well as having a really fun morning, we learned why our pulse increases when we exercise - because the heart is pumping blood around the body quicker than when we are resting! The hardest part for some of us was actually finding our pulse in the first place!!
Since we had no Healthy Kidz this week, P7MM got working on their hockey skills. The children learnt the basics of holding the hockey stick, dribbling and ball control. There was some great team work with pupils encouraging and cheering on their team mates, and even after just two sessions this week, we could really see an improvement in some of the skills. Well done all!
Every week a Healthy Kidz Star is chosen. This is someone who was an active, enthusiastic participant, who works well as a team member, who encourages others and shows respect to all those taking part.
Pictured below are some of our recent winners.🎉🎉🎉
P7MM completed a homework project on Climate Change while Cop 26 was taking place in Glasgow.
Following class work and discussion, they had to research many topics linked to climate change including the causes and effects, how we can help, COP26, government pledges and other related areas.
The results were fantastic! A lot of time, effort and thought were evident in the completed pieces.
Miss Thompson, our Eco Co-ordinator judged them and picked winners and runners-up.
Congratulations to all pupils and a very important and relevant global issue was researched and highlighted.
P7 enjoyed using paper mache today to beautiful Christmas music, as they made their tree decorations!
