Eleanor, from Reims Training spoke to P5P about staying safe on the Internet. This was really useful for the boys and girls, who, hopefully, will continue to work safely online.
Newsdesk is an excellent resource from C2k, with lots of very interesting and often topical news stories. As an added extra, the children can post comments after reading their story/factfile, or after watching an educational video. P5P really enjoyed this new activity and are keen to return to it in the near future.
Thankfully the sun shone for P5P’s Class Sports Day. A big thank you to Coach Steve for organising all of the activities.
This morning, P5P had great fun searching for Minibeasts in the School Grounds. Everyone was amazed at the variety of creatures living mostly unseen under wood and stones. After studying them, all Minibeasts were returned to their homes, none the worse for the experience!
Today, in P5P, the boys and girls made Christmas cards for the residents of a local care home. They spent a lot of time writing personal messages to brighten up someone special’s Christmas! Well done!
Newsdesk provides lots of opportunities to improve comprehension skills within Reading. In this video, the boys and girls in P5P are reading articles from Newsdesk before adding their comments on what they have read.
P5P made good use of the Computer Zone by completing a variety of ICT activities, including creating Powerpoints and adding points on to their Mathletics totals!
Eleanor from REIM Training delivered an excellent and very informative presentation to the children on Internet Safety. She stressed the importance of staying safe online on all occasions and reminded everyone to think of the three keywords, STOP, BLOCK and TELL when using a device. Everyone present brought home an Online Safety Pledge to keep and learn from.
We decorated our classroom door to celebrate World Book Day on Thursday 5th March.
